Cilantro Sauce
This cilantro sauce is my favorite condiment at Cuban restaurants. I love making a combo bite with chicken, beans, and this sauce, and I love dipping my plantains in it. It’s good on everything! The sauce is creamy, full of fresh flavor, and totally customizable to your taste.
Yield: Makes about 1 cup
Ingredients:
½ cup Sour Cream (6 oz)
½ cup Mayonnaise (6 oz)
1 clove Garlic
½ bunch Cilantro (no stems)
Juice of ½ Lime (add more if you like it zippier)
½ tsp Garlic Powder
Sea Salt and Freshly Cracked Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Add sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic, cilantro, lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into a food processor or blender.
Blend until smooth and creamy.
Taste and adjust salt, pepper, or lime juice if needed.
Let sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. It’s even better if made the night before!
You can easily customize it to your taste by swapping the mayonnaise and sour cream for Greek yogurt if you prefer a tangier twist. This sauce is perfect for Pollo a la Plancha, baked plantains, or just as a dip. You’ll find yourself putting it on everything!
Let me know how you love to use this sauce!
