Homemade Sazón Completa
I don’t buy spice blends. I like to keep a well-stocked pantry of individual spices (more on that later) so I can make almost anything at a moment’s notice. I’m obviously not Cuban, but I do live in Miami, and I’ve eaten my fair share of Pollo a la Plancha—and you can’t make it without Sazón Completa.
This homemade version skips unnecessary additives while keeping all the bold, savory flavors you need for seasoning meats, rice, beans, and soups.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tbsp ground coriander
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp paprika
½ tsp turmeric (just for color)
2 tsp sea salt (adjust to taste)
1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a bowl.
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
Use as needed to add instant flavor to your favorite dishes.
Now go make that Pollo a la Plancha!
